Exploration
Using reservoir pressure, temperature, and fluid density, PVTplus generates an initial estimate of the reservoir fluid composition and a preliminary Equation of State (EoS) model. The estimated composition is further refined as additional parameters, such as GOR and Bo, become available.
Development
Once a measured fluid composition and PVT data are available, an accurate EoS model can be developed. It can either be a single fluid model or a common EoS model covering an entire field. The model can be extended to capture compositional variations with depth and interface files can be generated for both black-oil and compositional reservoir simulators.
Transport
PVTplus assesses hydrate and wax precipitation risks during pipeline fluid transport and recommends optimal mitigation strategies, such as thermal insulation and chemical inhibitor injection.
Processing
The process plant must remove produced water and optimize oil-gas separation. Interface files for process simulators may be required
Enhanced Recovery
Gas injection is used to enhance oil recovery. Optimal recovery requires a miscible displacement, which means a reservoir pressure at or above the Minimum Miscibility Pressure (MMP). When gas injection is considered, PVTplus will help design lab work and develop an EoS model that matches the measured EOR PVT data.
Abandonment
CO2 gas injection can be used to enhance oil recovery from a producing field or to store CO2 in a depleted oil reservoir. In either case, a model description is needed that accurately simulates the CO2 migration and its miscibility with oil and water.
